About Our Dentists
Dr. Hanson grew up in Alamogordo, New Mexico, and received his undergraduate degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico. He then enrolled in the Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas, where he completed his 4 year dental program.
Upon graduation, Dr. Hanson moved to Independence, Missouri. Within a few short months, he passed the Missouri Dental Boards, and married his fiancé, Beth Duensing whom he met 2 years earlier while she was attending Southern Methodist University, in Dallas. He then started his dental practice.
Dr. Hanson had the privilege of joining the established dental practice of Beth’s father, Dr. J. Donald Duensing, in the Englewood area of Independence. In 1983, a new larger and more modern office was built by Dr. Duensing and Dr. Hanson in the current location, the “Medical Woods Building.” They practiced together until Dr. Duensing retired in 1986.
This year, 2008, marks Dr. Hanson’s 34th year in Independence. He and Beth have three children: Christopher, Emily, and Jonathan.
